Do you offer a pre-wedding shoot?
Yes I offer an engagement / pre-wedding photography shoot before your wedding included in the price within 25 miles radius of Falmouth. Outside this distance I add travel expense. A pre-shoot is a great opportunity to get to know each other and be relaxed and natural in front of the camera where I'll offer tips. You also get to keep the edited photos of the two of you ; )
How do we get in touch with you to find out your availability to photograph our wedding?
Get in touch via my contact form (quickest and easiest way)
Or you can email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you photograph weddings outside of Cornwall?
90% of weddings I photograph are here in Cornwall or Devon but I'm happy to travel so if you're located further afield from Cornwall then I'd love to chat to you about your wedding plans.
How do we book you?
Nice and simple, I send you a quick and easy online contract/booking form to fill in along with my bank details to pay the 25% deposit. Once received, that's me booked for you. The remaining balance will be due 1 month before you wedding day.
Are you flexible on hours?
Yes I'm really flexible. A usual full day for me is 10-12 hours (90% of the time that's 10am until 10pm) and half day photography is 5 hours but I like to be flexible and happy to discuss timings to suit your day. Some couples may wish for wedding photography coverage that's more than 1 day or isn't quite a full day, but a half day maybe too little and this is absolutely fine; we can discuss wedding photography that works for your wedding.
What is your favourite wedding location in Cornwall to photograph?
Here in Cornwall we're blessed with countless amazing opportunities for beautiful photographs on beaches or in the countryside, I really couldn't give my favourite Cornwall wedding location or venue as there are so many to choose from, you really are spoilt for choice. You'll see on my shire to shore blog some of the wedding venues in Cornwall I've photographed including The Green, Trevenna Barns, Port Eliot House, Pencarrow House, Prussia Cove to name just a few.
How would you describe your wedding photography style?
Storytelling; very relaxed and unposed, leaving you and your guests to really enjoy your wedding day and I'll capture it all as it happens. Along with all the people that make your wedding day special, I love to photograph the little details that tell the whole story including the mood/atmosphere, flowers, letters, notes & gifts, food & drink, clothes, entertainment etc. You can read more about my wedding photography style.
What do you like most about being a wedding photographer?
It's always an honour to be part of something so special, happy and unique as a wedding day. I love storytelling through photos and capturing the rollercoaster of moments and emotions on a wedding day is always special, as are the kind words I receive from couples once they've received their wedding photographs and knowing they will be treasured forever.
What if you can't make our wedding?
This is an important question to ask any wedding photographer, or any of your wedding suppliers in fact. What happens if I can't make your wedding for some reason such as illness? I'm lucky to be part of a group of documentary wedding photographers in Cornwall and Devon who if the worst was to happen, would be able to cover the wedding in my absence. Touch wood, I've never missed a wedding in five years, but it's always important to have a backup plan just in case.
What if it rains?
2017 in Cornwall was one of the wettest wedding seasons I’ve experienced, but rain doesn't stop play and rarely does it rain all day so I always look to make the most of any dry spells. Rainy days should never dampen your spirit - get the umbrellas out and put on your welly boots and enjoy!
Do you take group photos?
Yes I do take group photos if you would like them but suggest these are kept to the minimum. If you want a few group shots such as the bridal party, a photo with everyone and maybe one or two with parents then I'm your man. Couples who book me generally want me there to watch and capture what I see throughout the day, photographing it all naturally without influencing or setting the moments up. I firmly believe unposed natural photos make the best wedding photos.
How and when will we receive our wedding photos?
I aim to get your edited images online within 1 month and delivered to you within 6 weeks. All your wedding photos will be uploaded to a online gallery. Also you will have all the photos on a wooden USB stick. All photos will be full resolution highest quality JPEGs, watermark free and all individually edited in my own signature style and you are free to use your photographs as you wish.
Can you help us create a wedding album?
A wedding album is not included in my package because these days it's so incredibly easy to make a wedding album yourself online and make it personal to you. I can make recommendations for the best online wedding albums that you can create yourself or if you need any help then of course I'd be only happy to help.
How many photographs will I get?
With the full day coverage you will receive 700+ high resolution digital photographs, each individually edited in the style that you see on my website. With the half day coverage you will receive 350+ high resolution digital photographs.
Are you insured?
Wedding photography is an enormous responsibility and one I take very seriously. I'm fully insured with public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
How should we be/act in front of the camera?
Simply be yourselves. If you’re shy, be shy. If you can’t stop laughing, just laugh. I want to capture the real you, real moments, real emotions so just relax, enjoy and just ignore me; the best wedding photographs very rarely have anyone looking at the camera.
Can you recommend a wedding videographer?
Yes I've worked with a handful of wedding videographers here in Cornwall that compliment my natural storytelling style of wedding photography that I can put you in touch with if you're interested in having both a wedding photographer and wedding videographer.
Your style is unposed - but what about group/family shots?
Group/family photos are the only photos on the day that will require a certain amount of posing and looking into the camera. They don't need to take long if they're well organised so before the wedding day I make sure there's a list of family/group photographs you want and tick them off on the day.
