How would you describe your wedding photography style?
As a wedding photographer my style is very natural, telling wedding day stories through relaxed and natural/unposed film style. There is no staging/posing for photos (well, maybe a few for group shots!) in an unobtrusive way leaving you and your guests to simply enjoy your very special day. My aim is to produce a set of images that tell the story of your wedding day that are un-posed, beautiful and timeless.
The best way to tell a wedding day story is to keep everything natural and unposed and I capture all of the little details of your wedding day, not just the venue, the dress, the wedding tables, but also the story behind the wedding and the relationships between everyone on the day. This in my opinion is the best way to tell the real story of a wedding day - through capturing real emotions; real moments – not posing you in anyway, or setting up shots, but rather capturing natural events as they happen.
What do you like most about photographing weddings?
Being part of something so happy and unique and photographing the rollercoaster of emotions and moments that play out in front of my eyes on a wedding day is always special...as is the feedback I get from married couples once they've received their wedding photographs.
What is your favourite wedding location in Cornwall to photograph?
Here in Cornwall we're blessed with countless amazing opportunities for beautiful photographs on beaches or in the countryside, I really couldn't give my favourite Cornwall wedding location or venue as there are so many. You'll see on my shire to shore blog some of the venues in Cornwall I have photographed weddings.
Are you flexible on hours?
10 hours is a full day and 5 hours is half day photography. Having said that I like to be flexible and I can start and finish to suit your day. Some couples may wish for wedding photography coverage that is more than a day or isn't quite a full day, but a half day maybe too little...this is absolutely fine and we can come to an arrangement to tailor photography that works perfect for your wedding.
Do you take group photos?
Yes I do take group photos. Making a list of the groups you want photographed prior to your big day is always a good idea. I don't really like organising/shouting at large groups and staging people so I prefer to keep these shots to a minimum. If you want a few such as the bridal party, a photo with everyone and maybe one or two with parents then I'm your man. Couples who book me generally want me there to watch and capture what I see throughout the day, photographing it all naturally without influencing or setting the moments up. I firmly believe unposed natural photos make the best wedding photos.
How and when will we receive our wedding photos?
I aim to get your edited images online within 1 month and delivered to you within 6 weeks.
All your wedding photos will be uploaded to a online gallery
Also you will have all the photos on a wooden USB stick.
All photos will be full resolution highest quality JPEGs, watermark free and all individually edited in my own signature style and you are free to use your photographs as you wish.
Can you help us create a wedding album?
A wedding album is not included in my package. I provide all your edited photos on USB + password protected online gallery for you to use as you wish. These days it's so easy to make a wedding album yourself online. I can make recommendations for the best online wedding albums that you can create yourself or if you need any help then of course I'd be only happy to help.
Do you photograph weddings outside of Cornwall?
90% of weddings I photograph are here in Cornwall but happy to travel. So if you like my wedding photography style and are located further afield then I'd love to chat to you about your wedding plans.
Your style is unposed - but what about group/family shots?
I don’t really like staged photos so I won't pose you for photos with the exception of group/family photos - these are the only photos on the day that will require a certain amount of posing and looking into the camera. They don't need to take long if they're well organised so before the wedding day I make sure there's a list of family/group photographs you want and tick them off on the day.
How should we be/act in front of the camera?
Simply be yourselves. If you’re shy, be shy. If you can’t stop laughing, just laugh. Relax and just ignore me; the best wedding photographs are often couples not looking at the camera at all.
How many photographs will I get?
With the full day coverage you will receive 650+ high resolution digital photographs, individually edited in my signature style. With the half day coverage you will receive 300+ high resolution digital photographs, again each photograph edited in my signature style.
Do you offer a pre-wedding shoot?
I'm happy to offer this if the shoot is within 25 miles of Falmouth. Outside of this I add travel expenses. If you'd like a pre-wedding shoot we can combine it with a meeting and go to a nearby beach or scenic woods or park and it's a great opportunity to get to know each other but also how to be relaxed and yourselves in front of the camera. My style is very relaxed and unobtrusive and for me it's all about capturing you together as yourselves without staging you.
Can you recommend a wedding videographer?
Yes I know a handful of excellent wedding videographers in Cornwall that compliment my documentary style of photography perfectly that I can put you in touch with if you're interested in having wedding videography.
Are you insured?
Wedding photography is an enormous responsibility and one I take very seriously. I'm fully insured with public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
When do you require payment?
A 25% deposit books me as your wedding photographer. The remaining balance will then be payable 30 days before your wedding day.
