documentary storytelling style wedding photography

I truly love my job as a wedding photographer in Cornwall and take immense pride and pleasure in what I do. It's always a special honour to share in a couple's special day and the photographs are the one thing that stand the test of time - when everything's been packed away, that last piece of confetti picked out of the church hedgerow, it's this collection of photographs you’ll be left with to look back on, a record of that special day in your life, surrounded by the people that meant the most to you; images of your loved ones, special moments between the two of you, your dad wiping away a tear during the ceremony, the look on your face as you say I do. That’s what I love about my style of documentary wedding photography, it captures precious moments that happen in the blink of an eye, that can never be recreated.

Your wedding is one of the most special days of your lives; not a ‘photoshoot’.  I don’t ‘set up’ any shots or put you into uncomfortable poses; I capture the real-life, true moments of your day, observing and capturing moments as they happen creatively, naturally and unobtrusively. I travel light so no lugging around huge stands/flashes and asking you to wait around for ages as I setup. I photograph you and your guests totally naturally. Most weddings I photograph do like some group/family shots of course, but these are best kept to a minimum so that I can get back to capturing natural moments.

Even when I spend some time with just the two of you for some portraits (15-20 mins is enough time to get lots of different natural photos, I don’t want to take you away from your guests for ages) this is still unposed; just enjoy being with each other on your special day, you’ve just got married!!! and I’ll capture you together, naturally.

Along with the people that make the day special, I photograph the little details that tell the whole story of a wedding day including the mood/atmosphere, the flowers, letters, notes and gifts, the food and drinks, the shoes, the dress, the suits, the entertainment, the wedding tables, you get the idea.
